Town of Camp Verde, AZ
Home MenuEmergency Preparedness and Response
Emergency preparedness is the practice of planning ahead to reduce risks, protect lives, and support recovery during unexpected events. This includes natural disasters (such as floods, wildfires, and earthquakes), man-made incidents, and public health crises.
Being prepared means:
- Creating a family emergency plan with meeting places and communication strategies.
- Assembling an emergency kit with food, water, medical supplies, and other essentials.
- Staying informed about local hazards, alerts, and evacuation procedures.
- Learning key skills such as CPR, first aid, and basic safety practices.
Prepared individuals and communities are better equipped to respond quickly, minimize damage, and recover more effectively in the aftermath of an emergency.
Are You Prepared?
Emergencies can happen at any time. Local, state, and federal agencies recommend that families prepare now so they can act with confidence when disasters strike.
Ask yourself:
- Do you know how to protect your household from wildfires, floods, and other local hazards?
- Do you have supplies ready if you need to shelter in place or evacuate quickly?
