Camp Verde is where small-town charm meets breathtaking natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of Arizona’s Verde Valley, this welcoming community offers a safe, family-friendly environment with a relaxed pace of life perfect for raising children, retiring in comfort, or simply enjoying the outdoors.

With a population of 12,147 (2020 Census), Camp Verde blends the warmth of a close-knit community with the wide-open feel of Arizona’s high desert. Towering mountains frame the valley, the Verde River winds gracefully through town, and the mild four-season climate makes every day an invitation to explore.

Outdoor adventures are everywhere. Residents and visitors alike enjoy horseback riding, hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, four-wheeling, and jeep tours. Wildlife such as bald eagles, herons, otters, and beavers thrive along the waterways, making Camp Verde a destination for nature lovers.

But Camp Verde is more than scenery, it’s a place rich in history and experiences. Visitors can step back in time at Montezuma Castle National Monument, Montezuma’s Well, and Fort Verde Historic State Park, or explore unique attractions such as Out of Africa Wildlife Park and Cliff Castle Casino, complete with family-friendly entertainment like bowling, arcades, and dining.

Here, neighbors greet each other by name, fresh produce (including sweet summer corn!) can be found from local farms, and the town’s western heritage is alive in both spirit and lifestyle. It’s no wonder so many call Camp Verde home and why so many visitors return year after year.

Camp Verde truly lives up to the saying: Arizona’s best-kept little secret.”
